Prehospital timing logging
Every key moment,
timestamped.
PHEM Logger is a precision timestamping tool for prehospital emergency medicine. Capture job timings, drugs, interventions and cardiac arrest events as they happen, then hand over with a clean ATMIST record. It's built for gloved, one-handed use under pressure.
Features
Built for the timeline of a real job
From activation to handover, PHEM Logger captures the moments that matter for clinical governance, handover documentation and post-incident audit.
Every phase, to the second
Activation, mobile, on scene, at patient, leaving scene and hospital arrival, with a live on-scene stopwatch. Time since call, scene time, patient contact and total job time are worked out for you.
Doses, with counts
Log clinician-administered drugs, including adrenaline (bolus and infusion), fentanyl, ketamine, rocuronium, TXA and morphine. Repeat doses are counted automatically. Record now, at another time, or with no time.
Precise procedure times
Airway management, PHEA, blood products, IV and arterial access, ultrasound and fracture management, each with an exact timestamp.
Arrest events and intervals
Shocks, rhythm changes, ROSC, mechanical CPR, arrest drugs and termination, plus initial events such as bystander CPR and AED. No-flow, low-flow and total down times are calculated automatically.
Scored from your observations
Record a vital signs snapshot and the NEWS2 score is calculated and colour-coded, with a Scale 2 option. A score only appears once all seven parameters are in; anything missing is named.
Notes that map to handover
Structure your notes your way and map them straight onto ATMIST. The handover then reads as plain text at the receiving hospital.
Share it your way
Export as plain text, a spreadsheet, or an archive covering several jobs. You can also print to Bixolon SPP-R310 or Zebra ZQ220 Plus thermal printers, with a printer check at the start of each shift.
Outcomes at a glance
Each completed job shows how it ended: handover, stand down or life extinct. Filter by outcome, then export or delete several jobs at once.
Ready for training too
A built-in sixteen-section guide covers every screen, including data governance. The app works just as well in manikin simulation for debriefs and skills development.
Export & print
From the job to the handover
When the job is done, the record needs to go somewhere: to the receiving team, your notes or a governance review. PHEM Logger gives you several ways to get it there, and it only leaves your device when you choose.
Share a job in the format you need
You can view and share a timings report during a job or at the end of it. You can also export from the job list.
- Plain-text handover. A clean preview that's easy to read aloud or show at handover.
- Spreadsheet. Timings, drugs, interventions and observations in rows and columns for audit and review.
- Multi-job archive. Select several jobs and export them together in one archive, including a data backup file.
- Send anywhere. Use the share sheet to send to Notes, email or a messaging app.
- Everything included. Exports include NEWS2 scores, cardiac arrest intervals and your ATMIST notes.
A printed record for the receiving team
Print a handover slip to a portable Bluetooth thermal printer, so the receiving team has the timings on paper before you leave.
- Supported printers. Bixolon SPP-R310 and Zebra ZQ220 Plus.
- Saved printers. Keep a list of the printers your service uses and pick one quickly.
- Start-of-shift check. Confirm paper, battery and connection before you need them.
Devices
On your wrist, in your pocket, on the tablet
Use whichever device suits the moment. Each device keeps its own records, and nothing is synced between them. The dashboard shows current job status, on-scene time and recent events at a glance, and the app can stay awake while a job is running.
Apple Watch
Tap a timestamp without reaching for a phone. It's quick to use with gloves on, mid-task.
iPhone
The full logging toolkit plus notes, ATMIST handover, export, printing and settings.
iPad
A larger screen for reviewing jobs, building handovers and running debriefs.
Android Coming soon
PHEM Logger is coming to Android phones on Google Play, with the same offline, on-device approach.
Built for
Clinicians who need accurate times
PHEM Logger is designed for prehospital teams who are accountable for what happened, and when.
Privacy
Your data never leaves your device
PHEM Logger has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. Everything you record stays on your device unless you choose to export, share or print it.
- No accounts. There's nothing to sign up for or log into.
- No analytics or tracking. Your use of the app is never measured or reported.
- No internet needed. Every feature works offline.
- No patient identifiers needed. The app never asks for names, NHS numbers or dates of birth.
- You choose what's shared. Data only leaves the device when you export, share or print it.

Important: every entry in PHEM Logger is made by the clinician. The app records what you enter and shows standard figures calculated from those entries, such as NEWS2 and no-flow / low-flow times. It does not provide clinical guidance or recommendations, and every figure it derives remains subject to your own clinical judgement. PHEM Logger is developed independently and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any NHS Trust, air ambulance service or other healthcare organisation.
Also by the same developer: Kit Checker, an offline app for building and checking a digital copy of your kit bag.
